His young age is particularly notable because his music career began during his early teenage years. An October 2025 Off The Porch interview discussed his early entry into rap and noted that he recorded his first song at around 13. That places his musical beginnings well before his wider recognition in the Chicago rap scene.

Early Life and Chicago Background

YFG Fatso comes from Chicago, a city with an enormous influence on modern hip-hop and the development of drill music. Available sources identify Chicago as his birthplace and describe his connection to the city as an important part of his artistic identity.

Public information about his parents, siblings, and childhood is comparatively limited. Rather than relying on unverified claims, it is more accurate to focus on information he has discussed publicly. In his 2025 interview, he spoke about his upbringing, schooling experiences, and how he became interested in making music.

How His Music Career Started

His interest in rap began surprisingly early. In the 2025 Off The Porch interview, he discussed recording his first song when he was 13 and explained aspects of how he developed his identity as an artist. His early experiences eventually led him toward releasing more music and taking his career more seriously.

One of the songs associated with his early catalog is “Lost Brothers,” featuring Lil King, which was released in 2021 according to Famous Birthdays. Later, his 2023 releases helped increase his visibility, particularly within the underground Chicago hip-hop community.

Breakthrough With ScarFace and Other Releases

A major step in his rise came with “ScarFace” in 2023. According to biographical coverage, the track received attention after being shared by Chicago-based artist Chief Wuk and producer DJ Bandz, helping Fatso gain greater recognition in the local underground scene.

His catalog subsequently expanded with songs such as “High Speed Games,” “Come Home,” “Back Again,” “Solo Steppin,” and “In & Out.” Streaming listings show that several of these tracks have attracted substantial listener interest, demonstrating the growing reach of his music beyond his initial underground audience.

No Privacy Album and Discography

One of the clearest milestones in his discography is No Privacy. Apple Music lists the project as a 2023 hip-hop/rap album released on November 5, with eight songs and a total runtime of about 19 minutes.

The tracklist includes “Back Again,” “In Hell Wit A Drac,” “No Privacy,” “Rylo Rod,” “Solo Steppin,” “Go Go,” “High Speed Games,” and “In & Out.” Later releases listed on Apple Music include projects such as A Reaper’s Ceremony and Reap the City, P2.

OTF Connection and Lil Durk

Another important part of his career story is his connection with Only The Family, commonly known as OTF, the label associated with Chicago rapper Lil Durk. Biographical sources report that Fatso became connected with the OTF camp as his music began gaining attention.

His 2025 Off The Porch interview provides additional context, with Fatso discussing how he connected with Lil Durk through Lil King and eventually signed with OTF. The interview also covered his creative process, music videos, upcoming projects, and his experiences developing as a young artist.
